Mission

History

Kingston 4 Paws Service Dogs was founded by two individuals who recognized a need for locally based service dog training programs in Southeastern Ontario, particularly for children and individuals living with autism and other challenges. The organization began as a partnership called Kingston 4 Paws Academy in October 2013. Following a strong community response, the partnership transitioned into a not-for-profit corporation in November of the same year. It received charitable status on January 1, 2015. By the end of its first operational year, Kingston 4 Paws had 10 puppies in training with foster families and seven approved recipients on the waitlist. The first trained service dogs were placed during the early summer of 2015.
