Hillside Baptist Church was formed in February 1974 by the amalgamation of three smaller churches: Hildegarde, Lutes Mountain, and Gorge. The founding pastor was Phil Stairs. Since its inception, the church has experienced significant growth and has undertaken several expansion projects, notably the opening of a new modern auditorium in March 2016[3].
