TOURISM INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF NOVA SCOTIA
We represent Nova Scotia's tourism industry and pride ourselves on championing for and advocating on behalf of the province's tourism operators. We are the voice of tourism in Nova Scotia. The purpose of our Association is to lead, represent and enhance Nova Scotia's tourism industry - our most promising economic sector.

The Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia (TIANS) is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the tourism sector within the province of Nova Scotia. Established with the objective of advocating for tourism operators, TIANS also plays a significant role in educating industry professionals and celebrating achievements within the tourism community.
Purpose and Activities
TIANS serves as a central voice for the tourism industry in Nova Scotia, engaging in advocacy efforts to represent the interests of tourism operators across the province. The association provides a variety of training programs and certifications designed to equip tourism professionals with the skills necessary to enhance their services and prepare for successful tourism seasons.
The organization fosters a collaborative environment through networking opportunities, industry events, and awards programs that recognize excellence in tourism. By connecting more than 2,000 tourism professionals, TIANS creates a valuable network that supports business growth and development within the industry.
Programs and Resources
TIANS offers access to specialized resources aimed at improving industry standards and practices. Among these are initiatives like the "Clean It Right" program and the "Best Practice Mission Program," which provide guidelines and frameworks to support quality and sustainability in tourism operations.
Collaboration and Strategic Role
TIANS co-leads the development of Nova Scotia's tourism sector strategic plan in partnership with Tourism Nova Scotia. This strategic plan is designed to guide the growth and sustainability of the tourism industry by addressing key factors such as seasonality, product development, workforce development, quality, and the integration of tourism with the broader social, cultural, and economic fabric of the province. The plan is formulated through broad industry and community engagement and aims to provide a cohesive framework for future tourism investments and actions.
Membership and Access
Membership in TIANS grants access to exclusive resources, marketing opportunities, and participation in events tailored to the needs of the tourism sector. This network empowers members to enhance their operational effectiveness and contribute to the province's tourism success.
