Mission and Objectives

The mission of ESFRA is to support children, youth, and families by enhancing the quality of family life within the community. This goal is achieved through a variety of programs and services designed to meet the diverse needs of families along the Eastern Shore, specifically from Lawrencetown/Lake Echo to Lower East Ship Harbour.

Programs and Services

ESFRA offers a broad range of programs, including:

  • Early Learning and Literacy Programs: These focus on preschool education, promoting literacy skills, and fostering early childhood development.
  • Parent-Child Interactive Programs: Designed to strengthen relationships between parents and children, these programs encourage mutual engagement and support.
  • Parent Education and Prenatal Programs: Aimed at empowering parents with knowledge and resources to enhance their parenting capabilities.
  • Workshops and Lending Programs: ESFRA provides workshops on various topics relevant to family life and offers lending services to support family needs.
Community Engagement

ESFRA engages in community activities and events that promote family well-being and social interaction. These include family events, educational sessions, and collaborative efforts with local partners such as schools, health service providers, and community libraries.

Governance and Funding

The organization is governed by an eight-member policy board and operates with the support of provincial government funding, FLIEF grants, and community donations. This financial backing allows ESFRA to sustain its mission and expand its service offerings.

Impact

Since its inception, ESFRA has become a vital component of the Eastern Shore community, annually serving over 500 families through its diverse programs and services. This demonstrates its significant role in enhancing family life and contributing to the region's social welfare.
