History

WEC was founded by Charles (CT) Studd in 1913 as an extension of his missionary work in China, India, and Africa. Studd, a renowned cricketer turned missionary, established the organization to serve in Africa despite medical advice against it. His conviction was rooted in his belief that no sacrifice was too great for serving Jesus Christ.

Mission and Activities

The primary mission of WEC is to evangelize and bring people to a living faith in Jesus Christ. The organization operates under the principle that every need in their lives and ministries is supplied by God, trusting in His provision despite challenges. Key activities include church planting, marketplace evangelism, Christian education, drug rehabilitation, ministry to children in crisis, medical work, radio broadcasting, and translation efforts. WEC also emphasizes demonstrating the compassion of Christ and inspiring others for cross-cultural missions.
