Purpose

In 2005, the former Provincial Court House, built in the early 1950s, was acquired by the newly incorporated Society to serve as the Springdale Heritage Centre. The transformation from a courthouse to a heritage center involved extensive renovations, funded by HRDC (Service Canada) and the Town of Springdale, under the supervision of Carl Gillard, a former CMHC employee[2][3].

Collections and Exhibits

The Heritage Centre offers a comprehensive overview of Springdale's 150-year history through more than 100 professionally framed black and white photographs. The collection includes images of industries such as fishing, mink and fox farming, mining, logging, and boat building. It also features historical events, local organizations, general stores, and scenic views[4][5].
