Sky's the Limit Youth Organization
Sky's the Limit Youth Organization (STL) is a Canadian registered charity dedicated to providing refurbished laptops and technology skills to underserved youth across Canada, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Founded with the mission of ensuring that every youth who requires a laptop receives one, STL addresses the digital divide by enabling access to technology essential for education and personal development.
Mission and Vision
STL’s mission is to supply refurbished laptops to youth who need them, thereby fostering digital inclusion and empowerment. Their vision is that every young person in Canada who needs a computer has one, supported by access to technology training and educational programs designed to enhance STEM knowledge and digital literacy.
Programs and Impact
The organization collaborates with community partners who identify eligible youth recipients. These partners offer STEM and technology training, mentoring, and programming that help students develop skills in areas such as coding, employability, problem solving, and program development. STL has conducted technology camps in various communities including Rexdale, Regent Park, Scarborough, and Newmarket.
Recipients benefit not only from access to technology but also from orientation and ongoing support to maximize the use of their computers and internet. The impact extends beyond the individual youth to their families and communities by fostering a culture of learning and opportunity.
Environmental Commitment
STL promotes environmental sustainability by refurbishing and reusing computers, extending their lifespan beyond the typical five years. This approach reduces electronic waste and prevents harmful substances from entering landfills, contributing to positive environmental outcomes.
Values and Inclusion
STL operates on the principle that support is provided to all youth regardless of race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation, under the motto "Everybody’s kids or nobody’s kids." As a non-Indigenous organization, STL acknowledges its role as settlers on Turtle Island and expresses gratitude to the traditional territories of indigenous peoples, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and Wendat Peoples. The organization is committed to fostering safe, inclusive, just, and equitable communities.
Organizational Information
Sky's the Limit Youth Organization is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency under business number 857579742RR0001. Over the years, STL has placed over 5,400 computers in the hands of youth, continually expanding its reach and enhancing opportunities for technology access and education.
This summary encapsulates the organization’s role as a key contributor to youth technology empowerment and digital inclusion in Canada.

Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we reflect on the impact of the genocide of Indigenous communities for generations and the ongoing trauma caused by the residential school system. We honour all survivors, families and communities and affirm that every child matters. Sky’s the Limit, a non-Indigenous organization, is committed to ensuring that all youth have access to technology and the opportunity to expand and heighten their knowledge and skills.
