The church was initially established on September 25, 1960, as the Ajax Presbyterian Church, with 44 charter members and Mr. Peter Gilbert as the Student Minister. The congregation held its first Presbyterian worship service at Parkside Public School on May 29, 1960, with 58 adults and children in attendance. In May 1, 1962, the church adopted the name St. Timothy's Presbyterian Church. The dedication of the new church building took place on September 15, 1963.
