CanUgan Disability Support is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing assistive devices to individuals living with physical disabilities in Uganda. Registered with the Canada Revenue Agency under the business number 843257031RR0001, this organization is headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, and was founded in 2010.

Mission and Activities

The mission of CanUgan Disability Support is to relieve conditions associated with disability by supplying assistive devices to people with disabilities, primarily in the Kasese District of Western Uganda. They focus on delivering locally-made tricycles and purchasing various assistive devices such as crutches, white canes, raised shoes, surgical boots, and calipers.

Partnerships and Operations

CanUgan collaborates with the Kasese District Union of Persons with Disabilities (KADUPEDI), a local partner that identifies potential recipients for these devices. This partnership is crucial for the organization's success, enabling them to target and support those in greatest need. Additionally, CanUgan has an exciting partnership with Carleton University’s School of Industrial Design. Together, they have developed prototypes of a versatile "2 in 1" wheelchair that can be converted into a tricycle.
