**Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame**
The **Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame** (CLHOF) is a nonprofit organization established in 1965 by the Canadian Lacrosse Association to honor outstanding contributions to the sport of lacrosse in Canada. It operates under the business registration number 119219277RR0001.
**History**
The Hall inducted its first members in 1966 across three initial categories: Field Players, Box Players, and Builders. In 1997, a Veteran category was introduced to recognize historical figures, followed by a Team category in 1988 for championship teams. Structural changes in 2016 merged box and field player distinctions into a unified Player category. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed 2020 inductions to 2021, which were held concurrently with that year's class. A dedicated Officials category was added in 2022, alongside a National selection committee to improve representation of underrepresented lacrosse disciplines.
**Purpose**
The organization aims to promote lacrosse nationally, preserve its history, and inspire future generations through recognition of exceptional achievements. It emphasizes community engagement and athletic excellence, maintaining archives of historical memorabilia, photographs, and championship records to document the sport's legacy. Inductees are selected annually through regional and national committees representing diverse lacrosse communities across Canada. Edit Wiki
