Jerusalem Christian Mission
Jerusalem Christian Mission (JCM) is a Canadian nonprofit organization and registered charity based in Ontario, with the business registration number 823939483RR0001. Founded in 2012 under the leadership of Reverend Fr. V.V. Paulose, JCM serves primarily new immigrants in Canada, assisting them in finding a supportive community and a "home away from home" through spiritual guidance and cultural fellowship[1].
The mission emphasizes worship of Jesus Christ, recognizing Him as the God and Lord of the universe, and aims to build a community united by shared cultural and educational backgrounds. It operates under the auspices of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in North America, specifically the Jerusalem Martha Mariam Syriac Orthodox Church in Toronto. The church was initially established on December 5, 2010, by Reverend Fr. V.V. Paulose along with a few families and has since grown to include around 100 families, many of whom are immigrants or students seeking a better life in Canada[1][2].
JCM conducts regular religious services, including Sunday morning prayer, Holy Qurbana, and Sunday school, as well as Saturday evening prayers and services. Its community outreach focuses not only on spiritual nourishment but also on addressing the emotional, mental, physical, and social needs of its congregation, largely composed of recent immigrants adapting to life in Canada. The mission is inclusive, welcoming people of all denominations, castes, creeds, colors, languages, and nationalities who seek salvation and fellowship[2].
The spiritual leadership of JCM is marked by the dedication of Fr. V.V. Paulose, who prioritizes caring for the underprivileged, including the homeless and elderly orphans, reflecting the mission’s commitment to social as well as spiritual welfare[2].
