4GROW

4GROW, standing for 4 Generating Real Opportunities for Women, is a Canadian nonprofit organization registered with the business number 811227982RR0001.

History and Registration

4GROW was founded in 2014 with the mission to support rural women and vulnerable children in the Teso region of eastern Uganda. In 2015, it was formally incorporated as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in both Canada and Uganda, and it was also registered as a Canadian charitable organization.

Vision

The organization envisions an inclusive, self-reliant, just, and peaceful community where women are empowered to access opportunities for sustained livelihoods and social services for their families.

Mission

4GROW aims to promote equality and equity among vulnerable communities through a participatory approach to planning, with a focus on sustainable livelihoods.

Programs and Activities

The organization provides various supports, including agribusiness training and assistance for poor women, literacy, health, and financial training, and education assistance for poor and orphaned children. Additionally, 4GROW has been involved in initiatives such as COVID-19 awareness campaigns and community development projects.

Operational Area

4GROW operates primarily in the Teso District, a large rural area in Uganda with a population of approximately 1.6 million people. This region faces significant challenges, including those posed by global health crises like the coronavirus pandemic.
