Save a Childs Heart saves children with congenital and acquired heart defects who have almost no chance of surviving to adulthood in their native countries. To date Save a Childx27s Heart has saved the lives of more than 7400 children from 72 countries in Africa South America Europe Asia and throughout the Middle East and trained more than 160 medical team members from these countries. They say whoever saves a life saves the world.

Meet Nurse Helen, an incredible accompanying nurse from Ethiopia who has been a part of the Save a Child’s Heart family for over a year and a half. Helen first arrived in Israel in March 2024, returned to Ethiopia for a month in May 2025, and came back to Israel in July 2025. Her days are filled with meaningful work whether she’s translating for mothers and children at the hospital, preparing medications, or simply being there for anyone who needs her at the Children’s Home.
