Barrhaven Fellowship Christian Reformed Church is a Canadian nonprofit organization located in Ottawa, Ontario. It is part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America denomination. The church focuses on intergenerational worship and community engagement.

History and Development

Barrhaven Fellowship began exploring the idea of building a new facility in 2013. During this time, the church was pastorless and engaged in a search for a new pastor, which led to the appointment of Rev. Rick Nanninga. Initially, the church aimed to increase its capacity for worship and community service. However, their plans encountered several challenges, including policy issues with local authorities and a national train company, which caused significant delays.

Despite these setbacks, the congregation persevered, and after resolving the policy issues, they moved forward with the construction of the new facility. Unfortunately, the completion of the project coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, forcing the church to adapt by conducting online worship services.

Mission and Activities

Barrhaven Fellowship emphasizes family worship and offers a variety of community programs. It hosts Good Friday and Easter Sunday services with a focus on fellowship and reflection. The church also supports youth through activities like the GEMS Girls Club and Cadets Boys Club, and provides opportunities for adults to engage in Small Groups and monthly Senior Socials. These activities foster a sense of community and spiritual growth among its members.
