Brampton and Regional Islamic Centre (BARIC)

Brampton and Regional Islamic Centre (BARIC) is a Canadian nonprofit organisation dedicated to serving the Muslim community in Brampton and surrounding areas. Founded with humble beginnings, BARIC evolved from informal prayer gatherings in a residential setting during Ramadan in 2012 to a formal organization.

BARIC aims to establish an ideal Islamic centre that offers a comprehensive range of facilities, including a prayer hall, gymnasium, madrasa for evening and weekend education, library, and a dedicated area for elderly services.

Background

The idea for BARIC began when a group of brothers in East Brampton organized Taraweeh prayers in a living room. This initiative quickly grew as more community members became involved, leading to the search for a dedicated facility to serve the community. Today, BARIC represents a unified effort to empower the Islamic community by promoting unity, faith, and community spirit.
