The Art Gallery of Ontario Foundation (AGOF) plays a pivotal role in supporting the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), one of the largest art museums in North America. The AGO itself was founded in 1900 as the Art Museum of Toronto, with the mission to bring people together with art to see, experience, and understand the world in new ways.

The AGOF serves as the permanent custodian and steward of the AGO's endowment funds, facilitating the museum's ability to deliver extraordinary art and learning experiences.
