Portage Residential School – 50th Anniversary and Reunion On Oct. 9th RCS member Gordon Billows attended the 50th Anniversary of the Portage la Prairie Residential School’s Closing (1975) and School Reunion. The 300 plus attendees, mostly from northern Indigenous communities, included some members of Gordon’s 1970 Residential School Glee Club that sang at Expo ’70 in Osaka, Japan.
