The foundation was established by His Eminence the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. It operates under the guidance of His Eminence the Fourth Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. The organization's activities are centered around a Tibetan Buddhist center in Montreal, known as the Rigpe Dorje Centre.

Acharya Gyurmey completed the Acharya Program in 2014 and was awarded his Master's degree by the Fourth Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche in 2015.
