Established with a deep-rooted focus on gender-based violence, WISE operates to create safer environments across various settings, including neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and recreational areas.

Mission

WISE aims to make communities safer for everyone by prioritizing the safety of women and vulnerable populations. Their approach is inclusive, empowering individuals through various programs tailored to meet diverse needs.

Programs
  • Personal Safety Workshops for Womxn: These workshops are designed to enhance personal safety awareness and skills among women, fostering confidence and security in daily life.
  • Building Womxn UP: This initiative offers workshops on home renovations, providing women with practical skills and confidence in DIY projects.
  • Community Safety Audits: WISE conducts audits to help communities identify and address safety concerns in local environments.
  • Heroes for Tomorrow Program: While details are limited, this program supports young boys, contributing to a broader, more inclusive approach to community safety.
  • WISE Counselling Program: Offers support services for survivors of violence, providing vital resources during difficult times.
Impact

WISE's activities have a profound impact on local communities by addressing safety issues holistically. Their efforts to empower individuals and communities contribute to a safer and more equitable society.

Funding and Support

WISE relies on donations from supporters to continue its programs. Contributions help cover essential costs such as transportation and childcare for workshop participants, and support the expansion of programs like the Heroes for Tomorrow initiative and the counselling program for survivors of violence.
