Bay of Islands Search and Rescue, commonly referred to as BOISAR, is a nonprofit organization based in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The organization operates as a volunteer search and rescue team and has been active for over 35 years.
Overview
BOISAR is comprised of approximately 40 trained personnel who are committed to providing search and rescue services. They work in close collaboration with law enforcement agencies to ensure effective response in emergency situations throughout the Bay of Islands area and the broader province.
Operations
Since 2010, BOISAR has been involved in over 40 search operations. Their volunteers have contributed significantly to the community with thousands of hours dedicated to search activities, training, and fundraising. This includes over 2000 hours in community service, 5000 hours in training activities, 3500 hours in fundraising, and more than 3000 hours in search participation.
