HALO Air Ambulance Society

The HALO Air Ambulance Society, officially registered as a nonprofit organization with the business registration number 891538613RR0001, provides critical emergency medical services and public safety support in Southern Alberta, Canada. Established to address the region's remoteness and limited access to emergency air transport, HALO aims to deliver rapid and advanced medical care to those in need.

Mission

The society's mission focuses on providing emergency scene response, critical care inter-facility patient transfers, and support for law enforcement and search and rescue operations. Operations

HALO operates a Bell 206L helicopter outfitted with a Lifeport MedPak system and MedDek stretcher system. This aircraft is dispatched through the STARS Emergency Link Centre, serving as a key resource for emergency responders across Southeast Alberta and Southwest Saskatchewan.

Funding and Community Support

While less than half of HALO's operating budget comes from government funding, the organization relies heavily on community support. This includes donations from individuals, businesses, and municipalities. To raise awareness and funds, HALO hosts several signature events each year.
