The Corporation of the Anglican Parish of St. Margaret's
The Corporation of the Anglican Parish of St. Margaret's is a Canadian nonprofit organization focused on religious and community services. The parish has a rich history tied to the establishment of St. Margaret's Anglican Parish.
History
The first St. Margaret's in this area was founded around 1870, when Bishop John Medley acquired the "Old School House by the Side of the Road" to serve as a mission for communities too far from the main churches in town. Initially, it hosted Sunday School and occasional services, later becoming a Chapel of Ease within the parish of Fredericton. Over the years, the building was expanded, and regular services were conducted by clergy from the cathedral and divinity students.
By the early 20th century, the need for a larger facility became apparent. Under the leadership of Canon Cowie, the congregation began planning for a new church. Construction commenced in earnest in 1921, with the cornerstone laid on June 21 of that year. The new church was opened on December 12, 1923.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (or Orange Shirt Day), is held annually on September 30 in Canadian communities. On this day people are encouraged to wear an orange shirt and to participate in activities to promote awareness of the residential school experience and the impact it has had on Indigenous communities for over a century, to witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation. It is a day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter, and so do those that have been affected.
