Concern for the displaced people grew among the exiled SudaneseCommunity fellowships. The Churches worked to present a different picture of poorpeople in the third World one in which they were portrayed as human beingswith dignity not as passive victims. Education and information materialsexplained the root causes of poverty and suffering the connections betweenNorth and South and the role of people in the North in creating survival jobsand potentially solving poverty in the displaced camps.
