The church was founded by Rev. John Lubbers, who initially began a mobile ministry called "Transport for Christ" before establishing the church. The origins of Praise Fellowship Church date back to prayer meetings held in the basement of Rev. Lubbers' home in 1974. Over time, these gatherings evolved into a thriving congregation, leading to the purchase of a dedicated building in 1977, marking the official birth of the church.

Rev. John Lubbers served as the Senior Pastor for twenty-two years, overseeing significant growth during his tenure. Under his leadership, the church transitioned from a small group to a large congregation that eventually moved into a new facility built in 1992.
