Sturgeon Lake Bible Camp
Sturgeon Lake Bible Camp is a Canadian nonprofit organization that operates as a Christian youth camp located in Northern Alberta. Established in 1964, the camp has a longstanding history of serving youth and families by promoting spiritual growth and biblical teaching through rustic camp ministry.[1][4][5]
The camp provides children and teenagers aged 6 to 18 with summer recreational activities combined with spiritual instruction and development. The programming focuses on fostering a relationship with God and incorporates scripture-based learning alongside traditional camp experiences.[2][4]
Over its more than 60 years of operation, Sturgeon Lake Bible Camp has become a well-established venue for Christian youth ministry in the region. It runs seasonal camps mainly during July and August, with opportunities for volunteer and paid staff positions available during the summer months.[1][2]
A significant milestone for the camp was the completion and mortgage payoff of a new dining hall in December 2020. The fundraising campaign for the building began in 2015 and successfully raised over $760,000, enabling the continuation of the camp's ministry in a new facility that supports future generations of campers.[5]
Sturgeon Lake Bible Camp also organizes special retreats and programs, such as the Fall Teen Retreat and scripture memorization initiatives, which encourage young participants to engage more deeply with their faith.[1][5]
As a registered charity under the Canadian Revenue Agency, Sturgeon Lake Bible Camp complies with all regulatory requirements for nonprofit organizations in Canada.[2][3]
Note: The camp is recognized for its dedication to glorifying God through its ministry and operates with a strong community support network, reflecting its commitment to Christian values and youth development.
