Westend Seniors Activity Centre
The Westend Seniors Activity Centre (WSAC) is a charitable non-profit organization located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was founded in 1978 with the mission to provide a community-based hub that supports the healthy and active aging of seniors. WSAC offers a variety of programs and services to promote social interaction, recreation, fitness, and special interest activities catering to seniors' diverse needs.
Programs and Activities
The centre provides over 130 recreational and social programs along with drop-in activities throughout the year. Some of the fitness classes include Dynamic Movement, Essentrics Classes, Fit For Life, Interval Strength Training, M2M – Movement To Music, NIA, Seated Fitness Classes, Total Body Workout Through Barre, Total Fitness for Active Agers, and Zumba Gold. WSAC also offers a meal program with freshly prepared meals, available for seniors in Edmonton, either pre-ordered or picked up from the centre.
Community Engagement
WSAC actively collaborates with various national, provincial, and municipal initiatives to foster healthy aging among seniors from all backgrounds. The centre engages over 200 volunteers annually, who contribute more than 20,000 hours of service. In recognition of its outstanding contributions, WSAC received the 2019 Minister’s Seniors Service Award.

The centre operates as a modern, inclusive facility featuring a gymnasium, fitness room, café, and other amenities. It provides a welcoming space for seniors to connect and participate in activities that promote physical and social well-being.
WSAC is committed to respecting diverse backgrounds and experiences, particularly acknowledging the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples upon which the centre is situated. Its efforts have made it a premier seniors' activity centre in Edmonton, dedicated to empowering seniors through a variety of programs and community engagement.
