Little Claybelt Homesteaders Museum

This collection includes stories from numerous farm families like Poupore, Morrow, Jibb, Phillips, Armstrong, Beach, Dallaire, Wadge, Aitchison, Wilson, Thomas, Welch, Miller, Schubert, Loach, Seymour, Little, and many others. These historical records are available in publications such as the Kerns Township history book.

Operations

The museum operates seasonally, typically from mid-June to the third week of August. During this period, it offers an immersive experience into the past, highlighting the resilience and determination of the pioneers who settled in the Little Claybelt region.

The Little Claybelt Homesteaders Museum is dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of South Temiskaming through the collection of artifacts and documentation that focuses on the settlement history of the Little Claybelt region. Our current exhibits focus on the Temiskaming Northern Ontario Railway 19021946 and Ontario Northland Railway 1946 onwards local hardware stores from the early 1900s and a collection of artifacts from a late resident of New Liskeard. The T NO Railway reached New Liskeard in September 1904.
