The Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation is a non-profit, Canadian charitable organization founded in 1987 by Herb Carnegie. It is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency under the business number 892450842RR0001.

Mission and Objectives

The foundation's mission is to inspire and assist individuals to become responsible, respectful, peaceful, confident, and caring citizens. It aims to foster self-esteem and ethical behavior in youth by promoting positive character traits, inclusivity, and social responsibility. The organization works with schools and community groups to reinforce character-building initiatives, which help deter societal issues such as bullying, violence, racism, and religious intolerance.

Programs and Activities
  1. Character and Leadership Development: The foundation impacts over 70,000 students annually through motivational presentations and workshops. It also hosts annual student leadership conferences that have developed over 3,000 young leaders.

  2. Scholarships: The organization awards scholarships to graduating high school students who demonstrate community service, leadership, and adherence to the Future Aces Creed. To date, it has awarded over $900,000 in scholarships.

  3. Future ACES Creed: The foundation emphasizes the importance of the Future ACES Creed, which stands for Achievement, Character, Excellence, and Service. This creed serves as a guiding principle for young individuals to strive for personal and academic excellence while contributing positively to society.

Founder

Herbert Henry Carnegie was a renowned Canadian ice hockey player of Jamaican descent. Despite facing racial barriers in his hockey career, Carnegie went on to become a successful businessman and philanthropist. In 1954, he founded one of Canada's first hockey schools, which later evolved into the Future Aces Foundation. He was recognized with various honors, including being named to the Order of Ontario in 1996 and the Order of Canada in 2003. Carnegie passed away on March 9, 2012, at the age of 92.
