Cool Arts Society
The Cool Arts Society is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing fine arts opportunities for adults and teens with developmental disabilities in the Central Okanagan region of British Columbia. Established in 2003, the society aims to create inclusive environments where individuals with intellectual disabilities can learn, create, and exhibit their art.
Mission and Vision
Cool Arts Society's mission is centered around empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities through art by offering classes, workshops, and exhibition opportunities. Their vision includes fostering a supportive fine arts environment, facilitating community engagement, and promoting integration into the larger art community.
Activities and Programs
The organization operates with a belief that disabilities should not limit artistic expression. It provides a platform for participants to explore various art forms, from visual arts to performance. By engaging in these activities, individuals not only develop their artistic skills but also benefit from the therapeutic and social aspects of art-making.
Charitable Status
Cool Arts Society is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a charity, holding the registration number 851450346RR0001. This status enables the organization to receive donations and issue tax receipts, supporting its mission through public funding.
Impact and Support
By supporting the Cool Arts Society, donors contribute to enhancing the quality of life for adults and teens with developmental disabilities, promoting social inclusion and artistic expression. The organization relies on donations to continue providing these valuable services and opportunities.
