History
St. James' Church was founded in September 1953 and officially dedicated on December 21, 1955. The name was bestowed by Bishop Dixon to honor a former church in Berthierville. Several important church items, including the altar, lectern, prayer desks, baptismal font, and bell, were transferred from the original Berthierville church to St. James. The land on which the church was built was donated by Tom Havill, one of the original founding members. In recognition of his contribution, the church hall is named Havill Hall.
