Canada Cycles for Kids

Canada Cycles for Kids (CCFK) is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting sick children and their families across Canada. Established in 2002, the organization leverages the founders' passion for cycling to raise funds through long-distance bicycle tours.[1][2]

Overview

Founded by Marc Balevi and Robert Fetherstonhaugh, Canada Cycles for Kids has organized and completed over twenty fundraising bicycle tours covering every Canadian province, with some provinces being visited more than once.[2] Since its inception, the organization has cycled more than 25,000 kilometers and raised over $2.9 million to support various children's charities and hospitals across the country.[1][2]

Fundraising Tours and Impact

CCFK's inaugural fundraising tour in 2002 involved cycling from Vancouver to Montreal, raising over $180,000.[1] Subsequent tours have spanned diverse locations across Canada, including Halifax to Montreal (2010), Calgary to Vancouver (2014), Charlottetown to Montreal (2017), Newfoundland (2019), and the Yukon (2022), effectively covering the Canadian provincial landscape.[1] Funds raised have been distributed to well-known organizations such as:
