E.C.H.O. PLAYERS
E.C.H.O. PLAYERS is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion and production of live community theatre. Established over 50 years ago, the organization is based in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, where it has been an integral part of the local arts scene by nurturing theatrical talent and providing quality entertainment to its community.
The organization operates primarily out of the historic Village Theatre, a long-standing venue known for hosting E.C.H.O. PLAYERS' theatrical productions. The group consists of more than 240 members from diverse backgrounds who contribute their time and talents both on stage and behind the scenes to support the theatreβs activities.
E.C.H.O. PLAYERS produces five mainstage shows each season, showcasing a wide range of theatrical works that engage and entertain audiences. Beyond regular performances, the organization hosts the Vancouver Island Juried One-Act Play Festival annually in November, alongside other fundraising events that support its mission and community presence.
Recognized as a member of Theatre BC, E.C.H.O. PLAYERS actively participates in regional theatre festivals such as the Annual North Island Zone Festival. The organization has earned multiple awards at both Zone and Mainstage Festivals, reflecting its commitment to excellence in community theatre.
Community involvement and connection are core to the ethos of E.C.H.O. PLAYERS. The societyβs volunteer-driven model invites participation from patrons, performers, writers, artists, set designers, and other theatre professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
