Lethbridge Christian School Society

The Lethbridge Christian School Society is a nonprofit organisation located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. It was formed as a result of the merger between Chinook Christian Academy and Victory Christian School in May 1993, leading to the establishment of Lethbridge Christian School (LCS). This merger marked a significant step in the development of Christian education in the region.

History

In 1981, a small group of visionary parents and educators founded Chinook Christian Academy, a private Christian school that played a key role in laying the groundwork for the future Lethbridge Christian School. Following the merger with Victory Christian School, LCS was formed to provide a faith-based educational environment that aligns with Christian values and principles.

By 2001, Lethbridge Christian School had become an Alternative Program within the Lethbridge School District #51. This unique arrangement allowed the school to maintain its Christian ethos while benefiting from being part of the public school system. The society, comprising parents, staff, and committed community members, oversees the facilities and transportation services, ensuring that LCS operates in accordance with both provincial educational standards and Christian principles.
