Alberta Bible College was founded in July 1932 by Charles H. Phillips in Lethbridge, Alberta. The college moved to Calgary in 1937. In 1996, it relocated to its current campus. The institution emerged as part of the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement, aiming to develop indigenous Canadian leadership in the context of Canadian West settlement during a period of significant growth.
The college's early development was supported by figures such as E. E. Breakenridge, who played a crucial role in marshaling resources for the institution. In 1936, Alberta Bible College was incorporated with a self-perpetuating board of trustees.
