Established as a former Salvation Army Citadel, the building was purchased in 2007 and renovated to become a vibrant cultural hub. History
Prior to its current name, the company was known as Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie. The name change to Citadel + Compagnie in 2017 was made to highlight the stability and influence of owning The Citadel on the organization's mission.

Citadel + Compagnie is committed to contributing significantly to Canada's dance landscape through the creation, curation, and cultivation of contemporary dance. Led by Artistic Director Laurence Lemieux, the organization aims to bring exceptional dance to diverse communities and foster ongoing dialogue between artists and the public.
