The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, also known as the Académie Canadienne du Cinéma et de la Télévision, is the largest non-profit professional media arts organization in Canada. It is dedicated to fostering growth, promoting inclusivity, and celebrating excellence in the Canadian film, television, and digital media sectors.
Mission and Mandate
The Academy's mission is to inspire creativity, develop talent, and celebrate the best in Canadian visual storytelling. Its operations are guided by the principles of Integrity, Diversity, Excellence, and Authenticity. The organization aims to create a more equitable and diverse Canadian screen-based industry through professional development programs, talent activation initiatives, and networking opportunities.

Canadian Screen Awards
One of the Academy's most notable activities is producing the Canadian Screen Awards. This annual event brings together professionals from the film, television, and digital media sectors to recognize outstanding work. The Canadian Screen Awards were established in 2013, resulting from a merger of the Academy's previous awards, the Genie Awards (for film) and the Gemini Awards (for television).
