With heavy hearts, Candace House would like to extend our deepest condolences to family, friends, and community and honour Elder Stan LaPierre (Ogimaw Giizhik), who passed this weekend. At Candace House, he and his partner Thelma (Denima) Morrisseau walked alongside countless families in their journey through grief and loss following the death of their loved ones to violent crime. Stan was a guiding compass, a steadfast advocate, a comforting grandfatherly presence, and a glowing light for so many people throughout his lifetime, and we are honoured to have shared some of this lifetime with him.
