With the support of Gilles Létourneau, then Director, and Waguih Boulos, then President of the Board of Directors, the foundation was formally established to address these needs.

In 1992, following the merger of the Champlain Hospital and Manoir-de-Verdun Residential Centre, the foundation expanded its mission to serve residents of both facilities. The core goal of the foundation is to fund activities and enhance the living environment in ways that public resources and officials cannot fully provide, despite their efforts.
