Indspire is a national Indigenous registered charity in Canada. It was formerly known as the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation (NAAF) before being renamed. With a business registration number of 118834696RR0001, Indspire is designated as a registered charity by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)[5].
Mission
Indspire's mission focuses on investing in the education of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people for their long-term benefit, as well as that of their families, communities, and Canada. Their vision is to enrich Canada through Indigenous education and inspire achievement[1][3]. The charity aims to close the gap in Indigenous education by providing financial awards, delivering programs, and sharing resources to increase graduation rates among Indigenous students[4].
Programs and Services
Indspire serves Indigenous students in remote communities, rural areas, and urban centers across Canada. The organization strives to connect students with the tools needed to succeed in their educational pursuits. Key objectives include promoting higher graduation rates and supporting students in achieving their highest potential[4][5].
Leadership
The current president and CEO of Indspire is Mike DeGagne, who replaced Roberta Jamieson. DeGagne previously served as the president of Yukon University and Nipissing University[4].
Goals
One of Indspire's central goals is to ensure that within a generation, every Indigenous student will graduate. This objective underscores the organization's commitment to improving educational outcomes for Indigenous youth across Canada[5].
