Introduction
The WoodGreen Foundation is associated with WoodGreen Community Services, one of the largest social service agencies in Toronto, Canada. Established with a mission to enhance self-sufficiency, promote well-being, and reduce poverty, WoodGreen has been serving the community for over 85 years.
Programs and Services
WoodGreen provides a comprehensive range of programs and services aimed at supporting various segments of the community:

Housing: Offers safe and affordable housing solutions for seniors, youth, newcomers, individuals with disabilities, psychiatric survivors, and those experiencing homelessness. WoodGreen owns and manages multiple housing sites where tenants can access a full range of services.

Homeward Bound: A four-year education and employment program designed to support single mothers in challenging circumstances by providing housing, child care, counseling, tuition-paid college education, internships, and job search training.

Newcomer Services: Assists newcomers in making a successful transition into Canadian society by offering affordable housing, employment opportunities, child care, language training, and other settlement services. Programs for newcomer youth help young people make friends and connect with the community.

Senior Support: Works closely with community health agencies to deliver integrated care, helping seniors and older adults with disabilities improve their health and live with dignity and independence. Services include access to affordable housing, home support, medical escorts, counseling, and recreational activities.

Youth Services: Provides social, recreational, and mental health services specifically for young people. Support is available for housing, financial counseling, wellness programs, educational opportunities, and employment.
Impact and Reach
The organization annually serves over 37,000 individuals, providing more than 75 programs and services to address critical social needs. Key statistics include:
- Employment Support: Over 1,100 people have found employment with WoodGreen's support.
- Newcomer Settlement: More than 2,500 newcomers received settlement support.
- Volunteer Engagement: Over 17,400 hours of volunteering from 674 active volunteers.
- Senior Engagement: More than 1,660 seniors participate in Active Living Centres.
