Pro Musica Society of Vancouver

The Pro Musica Society of Vancouver, also known as Vancouver Pro Musica, is a Canadian nonprofit organisation dedicated to presenting and promoting new works by British Columbia composers. The society was established in 1986 and operates as a volunteer-run entity, fostering a vibrant musical community within the province.

The primary mission of the organisation is to promote and foster the musical life in British Columbia. This is achieved by sponsoring, promoting, and performing concerts that feature the works of BC composers. Vancouver Pro Musica organises a variety of activities to achieve its objectives, including:

• Educational Initiatives: Vancouver Pro Musica launched an educational lecture series titled "Career: Composer" in 2019, which provides insights into the career paths of composers in Canada.

Festivals and Concert Series

Vancouver Pro Musica is governed by a board of directors that oversees its operations and ensures the organisation adheres to its core values of creativity, inclusivity, diversity, collaboration, respect, and learning. The society is recognised as a registered charity by the Canada Revenue Agency and is entitled to issue charitable receipts for donations.
