The Marquis Project Inc.

The Marquis Project Inc. is a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to international development, community engagement, and education. Registered as a charity with the Business Registration Number 122463276RR0001, it was established in 1979 by representatives from faith and farm groups, schools, Brandon University, and other local citizens from Brandon and southwestern Manitoba.

Mission and Objectives

The organization has a two-fold mission:

• Education: To educate Manitobans about economic, political, and social issues at both local and global levels.
• Development Participation: To actively participate in sustainable projects aimed at improving the quality of life in small, rural communities in developing countries.

Partnerships and Activities

The Marquis Project collaborates with several organizations to achieve its goals:

• Manitoba Council for International Co-operation (MCIC): As an organizational member, it benefits from MCIC's support.
• Fairtrade Canada: Advocating for fair trade practices.
• Tanzanian Society for Agricultural Education & Extension (TSAEE): Partnering on projects in Tanzania.
• Kusaidia African Life Initiative in Uganda: Supporting community-based initiatives in Uganda.
