Home - Fraser Valley Child Development Centre Welcome We give children and youth the tools for individual success help families and caregivers better understand their child and youths growth and development and help build communities capacity to welcome and include all children. The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre provides services that enhance the quality of life for children and youth with diverse abilities and their families throughout the Fraser Valley region including Abbotsford Mission Chilliwack and Fraser Cascades. We acknowledge that we provide our services on thetraditional ancestral and unceded landof the Stoland Nlakapamuxpeoples. Who we help We accept referrals for children or youth We encourage you to refer a child or youth who has developmental concerns to our Centre with or without a diagnosis.

Not all children use spoken words to communicate but that doesn’t mean they have nothing to say. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) refers to any method of communication that supports or replaces verbal speech. This can include: 📸 Picture boards or communication books 🖐️ Sign language or gestures 📱 Speech-generating devices or apps AAC can be used short-term (while a child is developing speech) or long-term as their primary way to communicate.
