Trinity Square Cafe

Trinity Square Cafe is a Canadian nonprofit organisation and a registered charity, established in 1981. It is dedicated to supporting adult clients living with mental health conditions through community and vocational skills development in a cafe environment.

History

The roots of Trinity Square Cafe date back to the mid-1970s at the Church of the Holy Trinity. Although it is no longer affiliated with the church, the café maintains positive working relationships with it. Today, it operates independently and is supported by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Programs and Services

Trinity Square Cafe offers a recovery program that uses a work orientation and training model. Participants in the program progress toward individually defined employability goals within a supportive transitional work environment. This vocational mental health approach helps individuals with mental illness to develop essential skills necessary for personal and professional development.

The organisation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. It complies with the requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a registered charity, and its business is registered under the number 119270684RR0001.

Trinity Square Cafe is currently located within the Metropolitan United Church in downtown Toronto. The café operates from Monday through Thursday and provides a welcoming space for both clients and the community.
