History

EVA BC was established in its earliest form in 1992 as the BC Association of Specialized Victim Assistance Programs. Over the years, the organization evolved, expanding its mandate and membership. By 1995, it included Stopping the Violence Counselling programs and later became the Specialized Victim Assistance and Counselling Programs of British Columbia. In 2009, with a new strategic plan, the organization adopted its current name, the Ending Violence Association of British Columbia [1][2].
