Established during the darkest hours of the Bosnian war (1992-1995), the BCRA initially focused on delivering vital supplies such as food, clothing, medicine, and medical equipment to victims of the conflict. As hostilities subsided, their efforts expanded to supporting orphans, establishing soup kitchens, and implementing an annual Qurbani meat distribution program. They also played a role in aiding refugees in their return and reconstruction efforts.

The BCRA's humanitarian initiatives have not been limited to Bosnia. The organization has participated in various global emergency relief projects. Notably, they provided assistance to Indonesia following the devastating 2004 tsunami, supported Pakistan after the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, and offered aid to Gaza in the aftermath of the humanitarian crisis that began in January 2009.

Their mission emphasizes service to humanity, trust, and compassion, guiding both local and global initiatives.
Financial Transparency and Efficiency
The BCRA prides itself on financial integrity, maintaining an overhead of just 11% with administrative costs at 5.4%. This transparency ensures that donations are utilized effectively to support their humanitarian goals, fueling their commitment to creating a more compassionate world.
Impact
Over three decades since its founding, the BCRA has emerged as a beacon of hope for communities affected by conflict and disaster. Through its multifaceted services and unwavering dedication to holistic human welfare, the organization continues to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
