History

Through the Years Early Learning Centre began operations in October 2002 in the former Fox Point Elementary School building owned by the Municipality of Chester. Initially licensed for 33 child care spaces, the Centre expanded its capacity to 49 by renovating additional rooms. In 2009, it secured an Expansion Grant from the Department of Community Services to construct its own building on leased land at 20 Pte. Richard Green Lane in Hubbards. This new facility opened in June 2010 with a licensed capacity for 75 children. Further expansions increased this capacity to 100 by 2015 with additional spaces for school-age children added in 2013 and 2015[1].

Operations and Programs

The Centre serves children aged five months through twelve years and currently operates at two locations with a total capacity for approximately 130 children. It offers a highly inclusive environment complemented by welcoming staff and interactive outdoor play areas which have been praised by families and visiting child care professionals alike[1][2].

This board comprises community members and parents who oversee the Centre's programs and staff, ensuring high standards and smooth operations. The Centre fosters lifelong learning among its educators, many of whom pursue ongoing professional development and maintain memberships with relevant professional associations[1][2].
