History

Founded by Yvon Sabourin, a teacher from Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec, in 1995, Enfants de Bolivie began its mission to transform the lives of Bolivian children who faced extreme poverty and often lived on the streets. Sabourin’s initiative was sparked by his encounter with the dire conditions of children in Bolivia, some as young as four years old, surviving in harsh environments. Recognizing the immense task ahead, he enlisted the support of his community to establish a refuge in Vallegrande, Bolivia.

Mission and Impact

Enfants de Bolivie aims to rescue and offer a better life to children living in extreme poverty. Since its inception, the organization has made significant strides, notably saving over 2000 children from street life by providing them with shelter, education, and healthcare. This humanitarian effort represents a strong example of solidarity and commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children in South America.
