North Eastern Ontario Family and Children's Services (NEOFACS) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to children, youth, and their families in the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming in Ontario, Canada.
Mission and Services
NEOFACS operates as an integrated agency, offering a range of innovative and evidence-based programs designed to meet the unique needs of those it serves. The organization's core services include:
- Child Welfare Services: Providing assessment, investigation, placement, and supportive services to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and youth.
- Child and Youth Mental Health Services: Offering specialized support to address mental health needs in young individuals.
- Youth Justice Programs: Implementing programs that support youth involved in the justice system.
- Prevention and Community-Based Programs: Targeted initiatives to enhance family well-being and prevent child removals.
Governance and Funding
NEOFACS is governed by a volunteer Board of Governors. Its funding primarily comes from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and the Ministry of the Attorney General, with additional support from other funders.
Language Services
As a designated organization under the French Language Services Act, NEOFACS provides services in both English and French.
