Today we commemorate the Martyrdom of The Báb, who was executed by firing squad on July 9, 1850, in Tabriz, Persia. Baha'is regard The Báb as a Manifestation of God like Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, Krishna and Bahá’u’lláh. His death, like that of Jesus, might have seemed like a complete victory for His enemies at the time.
